Oshawa resident and elder, Dr. B. George Blake, was known to many as an oral storyteller, drummer, and writer who brought numerous stories from his Caribbean and Buddhist background to Canada. He was the founder of Durham Folklore Storytellers (now known as Durham Storytellers) and a recipient of the 2014 African Canadian Lifetime Achievement Award. Heather Whaley from Durham Storytellers and Storytellers of Canada, Jennifer Weymark, Oshawa Museum archivist, and Dr. Leroy Clarke, President & Executive Director, e-CAMP MENTORing, will discuss the archive projecthonouring Dr. Blake’s legacy.
